Do you focus too much on the road ahead? That can really work against you as a leader if you don’t also do THIS…
You need to occasionally reflect on your accomplishments and pat your team on the back and tell them great job for all the wonderful things they have accomplished.
I want business owners to do a better job of balancing the future goals, projects, tasks and make sure everyone at your company feels good about the journey they are on and the progress they have made.
Even if they have not done as much as you like, find something about what they have done that is a positive and communicate those things to help drive them to achieve and conquer the new goals in front of them.
At Healthy Brands Coaching, we take a “Company Snapshot” when we first start working together so at each Quarterly Pulse (reset) and at the Annual Planning Retreat, we can look back at this documentation and read off all the things we knocked out of the park.
Everyone must FEEL successful and appreciated!!! Progress and Growth…people and teams need to feel it or they will lose their WANT to keep striving for greatness and they will fizzle out. The first signs are their “frustration” over “motivation”.
The 4th quarter “Push” going into the holidays can be one of those times where YOUR GOALS are not THEIR GOALS anymore. So you simply don’t get as much out of them and/or their frustrations are shown on their face and actions daily.
So what things are you doing in your company to communicate your teams accomplishments and re-energizing them. Try more of that and watch them continue to help chase after your vision and dreams.
